We understand the importance of sustainability and the importance of reducing our carbon footprint to ensure the planet is a more pleasant place to live!
That's why we've worked tirelessly to minimise our use of plastic packaging where possible. Most of the packing that we use in our recipe boxes is also fully recyclable or biodegradable.
How do I recycle my Gastrostudent box?
All of our cardboard is fully recyclable and comes from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified sustainable sources. We love our boxes and we hope that you do too! They're great for storing your uni files or books for studying (or even to move to another flat!)
You can flatten and recycle our boxes in your household recycling.
How do I recycle the spices and herbs pots in my Gastrostudent box?
We use biodegradable pots which are recycled across the UK. Simply pop them in with the recycling. Alternatively, you may wish to reuse these.
How do I recycle the tins and cans in my Gastrostudent box?
These are widely recycled across the UK. Simply rinse these out and pop them in with the recycling.
How do I recycle my egg boxes?
Our egg boxes are made of cardboard, so these are 100% recyclable. Simply pop these into your recycling.
What do I do with my Gastrostudent ice packs?
We use gel in our ice packs as they keep your ingredients cooler for longer. You can pop these into your freezer and reuse these. They're particularly useful in the summer!
How do I recycle my paper pouches?
Our paper pouches are recyclable, but they are reusable! You can store dry ingredients in our pouches and reseal them, keeping them air-tight in your cupboard.
How do I recycle my cool bag?
Your cool bag is made up of 2 layers. The first is either a paper pouch or a biodegradable corn starch pouch. Both are widely recyclable, so you can pop these into your recycling bin as normal. Inside of your cool bag is a layer of insulation. This insulation is sustainably sourced, but not currently recyclable. They are great, however, at keeping out draft in the winter!
