1. Let's get started

A) Preheat the oven to 180°C

B) Place a large sheet of baking paper onto a baking tray and roll out two puff pastry sheets onto the baking paper

C) Use a knife to gently score a large triangle onto each of the puff pastry sheets (tip: Do not cut the pastry yet! Also, remember to include a trunk at the bottom of the tree)

2. Lots of chocolatey goodness

A) Use the back of the tablespoon to spread Nutella or other chocolate-hazlenut spread over the bottom puff pastry sheet

B) Crush the bag of M&Ms in the packet and sprinkle on top of the Nutella spread

C) Place the second puff pastry sheet ontop of the bottom pastry sheet and align to make sure they’re together

3. Seal the tree

A) Use your fingers to press around the edges of the triangle to seal, and place in the fridge (on the baking tray) for 12-15 mins

B) Remove the pastry from the fridge, placing the top of the triangle facing you

4. Cut the tree

A) Use a knife to cut around the sealed edges of the triangle (tip: keep the excess pastry for the star)

B) Lightly score 2 lines down the middle of the tree (approximately 3cm wide)

C) Use the trunk as a guide to cut branches (2cm wide) to the sides of the pastry

5. Top with a star

A) From the base, twist each branch of the the pastry away from you- these are the tear n’ share branches

B) Once you reach the top of the tree, cut a star shape out of the pastry scraps and place it on the top of the tree- this is your Nutella Christmas tree

6. Time to bake

A) Crack the egg into a small bowl and whisk with a fork

B) Brush the Nutella Christmas tree with the egg

C) Place the Nutella Christmas tree in the oven for 12- 15 mins until golden brown

7. Time to decorate the tree

A) Once cooked leave to cool for 5 minutes and remove from the baking tray

B) Serve with a sprinkle of icing sugar, hundreds and thousands or an extra dollop of Nutella

This is your Nutella Tear N' Share Christmas Tree
